I meant to get this blog post out last week, but I got sick and overwhelmed, and I think everything going on just had me paralyzed, but here I am, and I’m ready to deliver some important information about some amazing pollinators here in our beautiful state of Georgia: BATS! Bats are an underappreciated and truly underloved group of creatures that provide so much for us. Aside from inspiring the creation of the iconic Batman, bats are great pollinators and disease wardens. The latter being ironic considering part of the hate bats routinely receive are due to them being hosts for a variety of different viruses. Within this blog, I intend on breaking down common misconceptions about bats, give you fun tidbits and facts about bats here in the state of Georgia, and ultimately inspire everyone that enters my information cave to appreciate these fangtastic...

I saw this painting and felt it align with my exasperation on a spiritual level, especially the almost melted, stringy, and haphazard look of the painting. You can still make out the shape of the female subject, but all the parts of her sort of melt into one another. That represents exactly how I feel asking people to look deeper than what the creators literally present to us. All of this effort and energy is futile against the sort of people who consider any work not led by a white cishet guy to be "woke propaganda" being shoved into their faces. It's as tiring as the mood of the painting. Intro to Renaissance & Webster The Renaissance was a time of rebirth and resurrection for the arts, the sciences, and the maths, with an overall focus on scholarly development. This time period followed the Dark Ages, also known as the Middle Ages, and extended from approximately the 1300s to the 1600s. The Dark Ages marked by diseases and wars had given way to new light to be shed upon Europe during the Renaissance. While the movement provided great technological and informational advancements and visually artistic masterpieces, it is pertinent to focus on the writers of this period, most notably John Webster.
