Intro to Renaissance & Webster The Renaissance was a time of rebirth and resurrection for the arts, the sciences, and the maths, with an overall focus on scholarly development. This time period followed the Dark Ages, also known as the Middle Ages, and extended from approximately the 1300s to the 1600s. The Dark Ages marked by diseases and wars had given way to new light to be shed upon Europe during the Renaissance. While the movement provided great technological and informational advancements and visually artistic masterpieces, it is pertinent to focus on the writers of this period, most notably John Webster.
